Power monitoring and recording data differences?
What data can I expect ?
Many power monitors due to their memory size limit the amount of parameters you can record with any type of resolution. Other power quality recorders can and will record hundreds of parameters even over a two week time period to insure you don't need to put a recorder again in the same place.
Without the sophisticated storage modes or the memory required to record vast amounts of data, most power monitors will make you decide- you want more parameters? Well, increase your interval.
The best power quality recorders will give you information even if you did not think you needed it. Choosing the right power quality recorder can eliminate those times where you did not record the proper information.
Some power quality recorders have memory configurations are in excess of 100MB AND can utilize jump drive technology or they utilize an adaptive storage mode to greatly reduce the amount of money needed to increase memory. Beware of units that don't allow you to increase memory externally. Memory for these units is astronomical compared to the tried and proven expandable memory methods.
